Carole is a trained cordon-bleu chef who has travelled the world using her cookery skills. Now based in York Carole has realised her long held dream of opening her own cafe using only local producers and suppliers for her ingredients.
All of belle's bouffe food is made by hand in the cafe, including even the chutneys, pesto and mayonnaise.
Carole's ethos even includes taking responsibility for her impact on the environment and she does her best to recycle as much as she can. Even the takeout packaging is all 100% biodegradeable!
All of the furniture in the cafe has either been salvaged and renovated by Mermaid and Miller, a local enterprise supporting people with learning difficulties, or has been acquired on Carole's travels.
